Executive Director Job Description
Farmington Land Trust seeks a part-time (15 hours per week) experienced land conservation professional as its executive director. Responsibilities of the Executive Director include the following:

- Manages the day-to-day operations, and reports to the President on matters that
affect the organization’s land and mission.
- Under the direction of the President and Board of Directors, represents the
organization’s stated positions and policies to the public and other environmental and conservation organizations.
- Assists the Treasurer with preparation of budgets and supervision of the
organization’s finances.
- Identifies and pursues grant opportunities.
- Supervises any additional staff hired by the organization.
- Such other matters as the President may communicate to the Executive Director
from time to time.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, motivated, creative, collaborative leader who can work effectively with a strong and dedicated Board of Directors, Stewardship Chair, landowners, financial supporters, public officials, media, etc., to accomplish meaningful land conservation and ensure the continuing success of the organization. Qualifications: strong commitment to land conservation and forest stewardship; graduate degree or equivalent experience in environmental studies, natural resource management or a related field; at least 5 years of experience managing conservation projects or comparable project management experience; excellent communication skills.
