This parcel lies on the western downslope of Talcott Ridge, and
borders Talcott Notch Road near its intersection with Mountain
Spring Road. It includes second growth hardwood forest and
about half of the area lies within a marshy wetland. The former
residence of the Lakins stands on an adjacent lot.
The 1.8-acre Schaus easement is also adjacent. The combined
area totals 5.23 acres of protected open space.
