Welcome!
Welcome to the Mountain Spring Nature Trail. You are standing at the Carriage House. Built in 1940 by the Barney family, it was designed as a place to store automobiles and to provide office space for the Barney family and their chauffeur. Inside there is a three-car garage, restroom, and office space, as well it has beautiful cast iron works with radiators and an overhead car wash. The underground 1,000-gallon gasoline tank it once held was removed when the Farmington Land Trust gained ownership of the property. The building’s exterior was redone in 2018.
