About the event

Farmington was one of a number of Connecticut locales favored by artists in the late nineteenth century for plein aire painting. Farmington Historical Society President, Jay Bombara and Art Historian, Gary Knoble, will talk about the artist colony in Farmington and Brandegee’s relationship to

this location. Bring your easel and canvas if you wish. Artist, Sara Prentiss Brown will offer expert advise on painting in the outdoors.
