About the event

Sarah has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and completed YTT at West Hartford Yoga in 2017. She has also completed trainings for gentle yoga and kids yoga.

“Through the years, my practice and my teaching has evolved into teaching mindful and self-healing yoga classes, with a strong regard for pranayama and yoga as medicine. Medicine for the physical and energetic body, mind, heart, and spirit. My classes are a moving meditation, whether we are breathing through a power, all-levels, gentle, or restorative yoga practice. All of my offered experiences are flowing and bring students a sense of an empowerment to organically move, breath, feel, root down to rise up, and to expand/ contract as needed.

My goal is to help students heal through meditation, movement, breathing, energy/ chakra balancing, and ayurvedic practices and to open up to a deeper understanding of themselves through their individual practice. I myself cope with sometimes unbearable levels of depression and anxiety, and sometimes yoga is the one thing I can do - take deep breaths, move a little and let the energy in the body move and perhaps be open to a new state, a healing state, or in the least expand my capacity for deep compassion for myself, along with a connection to my heart, to give me some grounding to move through the day.

My classes are intended to leave students with a feeling of tender compassion, gratitude, a spark in the heart space, a calming of the raucous mind, an overall sense of equanimity, much less tension in the body, a new awareness (whether of our outer or inner worlds), and an inspiration to continue those practices which bring a wholeness and a sense of well-being and contentment. Ancient, deeper philosophies of yoga are also introduced along with the physical practice.

As written in the Bhagavad Vita “Yoga is a journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” Join me to experience the alchemy of yoga and take your own healing journey.” -Sarah
