Announcing The 2nd Annual Real2Real Filmfest Winners!
We are excited to announce the winners of our film contest. Like most everything the past year, we were unable to celebrate our films to the extent that they deserve due to covid restrictions. The participants worked hard to create beautiful films capturing the beauty and importance of open space.
1st Place Winner: Angelo Choe
Summer Days in Farmington
This is Angela’s second year as the first place winner. She is a graduating senior of FHS and will be attending Northeastern University in Boston this fall and will study pharmacy.
“ I decided to participate in the film contest because I am passionate about both film and nature. I think there are many beautiful parts of Connecticut people don’t stop to look at and I wanted to both experience and capture those parts of nature. I think it also taught me to enjoy the outdoors more.”
3rd Place Winner: Jacob Banasiak
Farmington- The Land
“I have lived in Farmington my whole life. Over the last few years I fell in love with the art of making videos. When I heard of the Farmington Land Trust Film Contest, without hesitation I picked my camera and began filming the beautiful nature this town has to offer. It was definitely a fun adventure. I discovered some hidden gem locations, saw incredible sunsets, and captured moments of beauty within my hometown of Farmington.” And currently I am in college at UConn.
2nd Place Winner: Thomas Kot
“I am going to be a senior at Farmington high school. I love being in the outdoors and doing activities outside such as mountain biking and fishing and playing sports. The Farmington land trust video contest gave me the opportunity to show off the best of what Farmington has to offer in wildlife. I think it’s important to be outside and enjoy what is in Farmington.”
